I’m sure most of you gear heads out there use either Aperture or Adobe Lightroom. I myself like to keep it in the family and show my love to Adobe, it’s just easier for me. As of late, I’ve become a huge Lightroom fanboy and I can’t get enough of Matt Kloskowski’s blog, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips. It’s a mouthful but totally worth a visit. I learn something every time I click over.
I’ve been very busy as of late with a bunch of different things. I have my hands in a few creative cookie jars and I’ve been neglecting the newb’s. Sorry guys. Your regularly scheduled brain candy will resume shortly.
I don’t know if you have been following the hd-video-dslr awakening, but the new Nikon D5000 is awesome with a price that fits. With a 12.3 megapixel sensor, 720p hd video capability, vari-angle live view monitor, and ISO 3200 I don’t know what more I could ask for.
In other words, I want it.

My recent descent into the world of screen printing (more on that later.), has caused me to drool over a lot of work. With that, Tad Carpenter’s work is worthy of salivation.
My lovely wife and I have decided to go the entire week without spending a dime. The only money we are allowed to spend is gas money and/or pending bills that have already been calculated into our budget. This is an exercise in frugality. Wish me luck.

I’ve been loving on my illustration toolbox lately and I’m drawing tons of inspiration from Cartoon Modern, a blog totally dedicated to 1950’s style illustrations. This stuff is tops.
I’ve been working on my hand-lettering a lot lately, and through this process I’ve come across a few resources I thought might be of use to my fellow newbies.
• Ignore the site design, but inhale everything else. There’s a lot of meat on this site.
• This book will change the way you look at type. I’ve had it for a while and I’m reading it for the second time. If you care at all about design you should read this.
